The Rev. Dr. Timothy Brittain is guest minister at St. Andrews By-the-Lake Chapel in Lake Toxaway on Sunday, July 17, at 11:00 a.m.


Dr. Brittain is a retired minister of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was called to preach in 1974 and retired in 2014 from the Hudson United Methodist Church in Hudson, North Carolina. In the late 80‘s, he pastored the Cashiers United Methodist Church and the Lake Toxaway Methodist Church.


Dr. Brittain graduated cum laude from Gardner-Webb University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminaryand his Doctor of Theology degree from Triune Seminary. He has written two books.  The United Methodists: What We Believe and Why was published in 1986 and Thy Kingdom Come: A Study of the Book of Revelation came out in 1991.  


All are welcome at St. Andrews By-the-Lake Chapel where ministers from different denominations conduct services.
